Niveo Configurator AV switch configuration
Draft
1

Switch and topology

Choose the target model and its role in this design.

Desktop safeguard: the connected switch must report the same model as this selection before configuration can be applied.

Switch role

In a multi-switch design, only one switch can be the primary.

Only a multi-switch design can have a secondary switch.

2

Port assignments

Protocol behavior is set by the backend profile; only VLAN, PoE and PD Alive remain per-port choices. Endpoints may be disconnected during staging; a down link does not block configuration or prove that a port is unused.

3

Management network

Management-IP commands are kept separate from the media configuration in generated output.

Switch IP assignment

New address for this switch.

A network can only have one DHCP server active!

4

Review and export

Verify that the exact model number corresponds to the configuration file before uploading.

Use at your own risk

Niveo Configurator has been developed and tested with care to support reliable and secure use. You remain responsible for reviewing every configuration, confirming compatibility, protecting credentials, making backups and maintaining the security and operation of the switch and network.

5

Connect and push

The switch is never rebooted automatically.

Risk, privacy and authorization

Switch credentials, addresses, topology and configuration are sensitive. Incorrect settings can interrupt management access, audio/video, PoE devices and network availability. Saving startup configuration makes changes survive a reboot and can overwrite the previous boot state. Only authorized administrators may continue. Credentials stay local and are excluded from telemetry, logs, exports and support bundles. You remain responsible for backups, compliance, warranties and recovery.

Connection values

Not connected.

Usage, risk, privacy and authorization

Use of Niveo Configurator and any configuration it generates is entirely at your own risk. The product has been developed and tested with care to support reliable operation and secure use, but no tool can account for every switch model, firmware version, network design or local security policy.

A wrong or incompatible setting can interrupt management access, audio/video services, PoE devices or the wider network, and may introduce security or privacy risks. Direct switch changes can become persistent when running configuration is saved as startup/default configuration.

Only use this application when you are authorized to administer the target equipment. You are responsible for verifying the exact switch model and firmware, reviewing the generated commands, protecting credentials, making current backups, preparing a rollback, and meeting applicable security, privacy, compliance and warranty requirements. Final responsibility for the security, operation and recovery of the switch and network remains with you.

Credentials entered for direct connection stay on this computer and are excluded from generated files, logs, telemetry and support bundles.

Authorize running-only canary

This operation will authenticate, create backups, apply only the reviewed running configuration and read it back. It will not save startup/default configuration. A failed stage triggers restoration where possible.

Authorize startup/default save

The running-only canary has passed. This separate operation will overwrite startup/default configuration, read back running and startup/default, and require them to match the verified intended state.
